New Orleans -- 2006
These are photos I took during a trip back to Louisiana that Mike and I made for my sister's wedding in April of 2006. Some are in New Orleans city proper, the latter ones are in the Arabi/Chalmette area and show some of the impact Hurricane Katrina had the previous August.
I've got these sized for optimal viewing on a 17" monitor -- sorry for the horizontal scrolling if you're using something smaller! |

That's why the call it a "shotgun" house! I'm standing in the front door taking the photo and you can see all the way to the back. You could shoot a shotgun, and the bullet wouldn't hit anything on the way thru!

Quintessential NOLA backyard -- a bar, a bike, a pirogue, and a mop bucket!

Yeah, this one isn't too extreme. Wait! That house is in the street!

Mike pointing out that the house on the right is supposed to be in the lot on the left.
