Anika Evans was born in Oregon, and grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
She is a product of the Open school philosophy which is one of supporting children's interests, letting them learn at their own pace, and encouraging them to take education outside of traditional classroom walls. She graduated from Community High School in 1995, attended Maryland Institute, College of Art for two years, and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in photography at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2000.
Anika has worked in the photo industry in several cities including Philadelphia and New Orleans. She moved to Canada in 2004 and received permanent residency status in 2006. She is currently living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada with her dog, Meridian.
